Gardaí appeal for witnesses as man on e-scooter (40s) hospitalised after hit-and-run in Dublin

A man in his 40s was brought to hospital after a hit-and-run collision in Dublin on Tuesday night.

Gardaí in Store Street are appealing for witnesses following the hit-and-run road collision between a car and an e-scooter which occurred in Ballybough, Dublin 3, on Tuesday.

“Shortly after 11 pm, gardaí and ambulance personnel were alerted to a collision involving a car and an e-scooter at the junction of Ballybough Road and Spring Garden Street.

“The driver of the e-scooter, a male in his 40s, was taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not life-threatening. The car involved failed to remain at the scene and the motorist has yet to come forward,” a garda spokesperson said.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

Any road users or pedestrians who were in the vicinity of Ballybough at the time and have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this available to investigating gardaí.
