Gardaí have launched an investigation after windows at the Department of Transport were smashed in an incident of criminal damage on Tuesday.
The incident occurred early on Tuesday afternoon at the department’s buildings on Leeson Lane, Dublin 2.
The Irish Independent understands an individual attacked the building with a hammer and smashed a number of windows on the ground floor of the building.
No arrests have yet been made in connection with the incident and gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
“Gardaí received a report of criminal damage to a building on Leeson Lane, Dublin 2 in the early afternoon of today Tuesday 24th September, 2024.
“Investigations ongoing,” a Garda spokesperson said.
The Department of Transport have been contacted for comment.
