The 24 week project involved a full-fit out, including racking, sprinklers, lighting, M&E installations and associated civil engineering and enabling works.  The new development, situated at Aerodrome Business Park in Baldonell (Unit R), was developed by Exeter Ireland and is conveniently located near other PRL facilities.

Works also included fit-out to the three-story office space along with the provision of new welfare areas.

Speaking about the project Rory McGillycuddy, Country Director Glencar Ireland, said: “We were delighted to work with PRL for the first time and on this impressive new carbon neutral warehouse development in Baldonell, which is a prime location for logistics to serve Dublin and surrounding areas.

We assembled a top team on this project and they have delivered an excellent result.  We have enjoyed an excellent working relationship with PRL and the entire professional team and look forward to working with them again in the near future.

We continue to see further strong and continued interest in our services and capabilities in Ireland and we look forward to making further announcements in due course”

Glencar Construction provides high quality, agile and efficient construction services in Ireland and the UK, primarily to the industrial, logistics, distribution manufacturing, life science and pharmaceutical sectors. In 2023, Glencar Construction completed the fit-out of a new distribution centre for IKEA at Greenogue, Dublin.

Richard Jones, Director of PRL Logistics, expressed his thoughts on the completion of Unit R: “Unit R is a critical component of our warehousing infrastructure, which now spans over 1 million square feet. This facility stands as a testament to our commitment to adopting more sustainable business practices, aligning with our broader goal of reducing our carbon footprint. At PRL we are on target to reduce our Greenhouse Gas emissions in 2024 by 55% due to initiatives like this net-zero warehouse and adoption of HVO.

The refurbishment of this net-zero warehouse was executed to an exceptionally high standard and achieved a particularly challenging 24 week programme. The Glencar Project Management team, in particular, brought a wealth of experience to the project, demonstrating a meticulous attention to detail throughout the process.”
