In a great news coming up for Pakistan cricket, Mohammad Amir has been finally granted visa by the Irish consulate and the star pacer is likely to join the team camp before the second T20I of the three-match T20I series between Ireland and Pakistan.
All the three matches of the series will be played at Dublin and the pacer who is currently in Lahore is likely to leave for Ireland as soon as the formalities are cleared. The rest of the Pakistan squad left for Ireland on May 7 with first T20I to be played on 10th of May.
According to the sources, the delay in the visa was due to some technical ground and after a long deliberations between the Ireland and Pakistan board, the issue has been finally resolved.
After days of deadlock, the breakthrough eventually came after discussions between the Pakistan Cricket Board and Cricket Ireland over the delay in issuing visa to Amir.
Mohammad Amir recently came out of retirement with change in management in Pakistan cricket and is most likely to be part of Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad. So his participation in the Ireland and England series just before the World Cup becomes crucial, and it would be interesting to see how he shapes up leading into the all-important T20 World Cup.
