Liam O’Hare will fight for the Celtic title in Dublin next month (Image: Submitted)

A HEREFORD boxer starts his international debut at the National Stadium in Dublin next month.

Midland Super Middleweight Champion Liam O’Hare will fight for the Celtic title on October 18.

The Dublin event sees O’Hare take on the 6ft 4in Irish Light Heavyweight Jamie Morrissey from Limerick.

It is a real David versus Goliath clash, but one that O’Hare is confident of winning despite his reach and weight disadvantage.

Liam, who boxes, under Jon Pegg, at the Eastside Gym in Birmingham and has a perfect record.

The Hereford boxer is an ex Royal Ballet dancer from Elmhurst Ballet School who turned to boxing.

He sees both ballet and boxing as an art form that require strength, power, discipline movement and timing.

He said: “Although Morrissey has the home advantage and I will be at a lower weight class.

“I believe my speed, power, movement and technical skill should be more than enough to beat him.

“It will be my biggest challenge yet and I am really looking forward to showing my continued progress in the ring.

“Dublin is a great venue and it would be great to have as many of my boxing fans there supporting me to take my first international title.”

It comes soon after O’Hare is in competitive action this week against Belarus Super Middleweight Dzmitry Atrokhau.

O’Hare is in action at Scott Murray’s The Excelsior Sporting Club in Cannock on tonight (September 26) in front of some of the big names in Midland and UK boxing.

The Hereford boxer continues to impress the boxing world as he rises up the rankings . You can see him live in Dublin by booking tickets on the following link: https://bit.ly/liamohare-aotl
