A lucky lottery player from Crumlin, who scooped the top prize in the Euromillions Plus draw, said their “positive thinking” paid off.

The National Lottery confirmed the winning ticket from the Friday, August 23, draw was bought in Brady’s Newsagents in Crumlin, Dublin 12.

The Dubliner recently picked up their prize and described the moment they got the cheque as “surreal”.

“I have won a few smaller prizes over the years and to be honest, I really believed that a bigger win was on its way to me,” the lucky winner said.

“I am a firm believer in positive thinking to make things happen and look how it paid off, here I am now!

“I do see myself as a lucky person and now I keep joking that at least after this big win, I’ll know exactly what to do next time I win!

“Even in saying that, I must admit seeing the cheque in front of me is totally surreal – I keep counting the zeroes,” they added.

Today’s Euromillions draw is set to be an exciting one for players as the jackpot is set to roll towards an estimated €130m.

A spokesperson for the National Lottery said that the current list of Irish Euromillions jackpot winners stands at 17 in total since the game launched in 2004.

The largest win was in 2019, when a family syndicate from the Naul in north county Dublin scooped a massive jackpot of €175m.
