The 26-year-old winger arrives in Inchicore from Sligo Rovers where he scored four times in 19 appearances across an injury-hit campaign.
Before arriving at the Showgrounds, the Greystones man spent a year-and-a-half at Shamrock Rovers where he won two Premier Division titles as a fringe player.
But as Kenny continues to build for 2025, Power is relishing the prospect of linking up with his former Irish boss again as the deal was confirmed this afternoon.
“I heard of the interest a couple of weeks ago and there was also interest in myself from elsewhere, I’m relieved to have got it over the line and I’m looking forward to it all starting,” said Power, who joined Norwich City at age 19 in 2019 before returning home three years later.
“There were many factors in me joining. The idea of working under Stephen Kenny again was a major pull, working under him at the Ireland Under-21s was some of the best times of my career.
“I think it’s a really exciting time to be at St Pat’s, off the back of their form at the end of last season, we’ve got European football to look forward to next season as well, and ultimately I want to come here and win.”
With Power set to link up with his former Ireland Under-21 teammates Zach Elbouzedi and Jamie Lennon at the Saints, Kenny revealed that the winger’s sprint statistics are on par with Irish senior international Chiedozie Ogbene.
“Simon has always had electric pace, his recorded level of speed is on a par with Chiedozie Ogbene, but much more than that, he is a very skilful footballer, an exciting dribbler, and has added different facets to his game, playing off the right or the left wing,” added Kenny, with the Saints also looking forward to European football in 2025 after nine wins in their final nine league games helped secure a third placed finish.
“His crossing ability has been of a high standard, so much so that he was taking all of the set pieces last season.
“Often with players of that level of explosive speed, injuries can be challenging, so we’ve got to formulate a programme that works for Simon with our medical and sport science team, so that he can maximise his potential.
“He will be a real addition to St Patrick’s Athletic over the next few seasons.”
