Irish Ferries owner Irish Continental Group operates passenger and freight routes between Ireland and the UK, France, Rotterdam and Antwerp

Irish Ferries boss Eamonn Rothwell and his wife have engineered another multi-million euro share transfer between them, as they continue to reap the benefits of the company’s stock trading back near an all-time high.

Filings with the stock exchange for Irish Ferries owner Irish Continental Group show that Mr Rothwell (69) transferred almost €51m worth of shares during the week to his wife, Clodagh Moreland (61). The shares – just over 9.4 million of them – were transferred at no cost to her.
