West Pharmaceutical Services, a leading U.S. drug packaging specialist, has announced a significant investment in Ireland.
It has announced the creation of 330 jobs at its Dublin 15 manufacturing facility.
This expansion will grow the company’s Irish workforce by over 25% as West builds a new 165,000 sq. ft. facility in Damastown.
The company’s growth is driven by rising demand for injectable treatments, especially for diabetes and obesity therapies.
Demand for obesity treatments has surged since the launch of Ozempic, a diabetes drug later endorsed for weight loss by public figures.
West’s latest expansion aligns with its strategy to support customer needs amid rising demand. In 2022, West’s Irish profits climbed 63% to €78.3 million, supported by a 24% boost in sales.
