A BELOVED sports bar in the heart of Dublin city is set to close its doors for good this weekend.

The Living Room, located just off O’Connell Street on Cathal Brugha Street, announced the news to devastated customers today.

However, the sports bar team also revealed that it’s “not the end of the story,” adding that “exciting news” will be announced soon.

In a post on social media, the company announced its shock closure.

They wrote: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of The Living Room, our beloved sports bar located in the heart of Dublin.

“For years , our venue has been a gathering place for friends, families, and fans from all walks of life who have come together to share unforgettable moments, celebrating major sporting events and life’s milestones together.

“We want to extend our deepest gratitude to our loyal patrons & dedicated staff, who have supported us throughout this incredible journey.”

The statement added: “The Living Room was more than just a venue, it was a place where memories were made, cheers were shared, and a love for sports brought us all together.”

The beloved Dublin sports pub will officially close its doors on Monday, January 6.

They concluded the post by saying: “While this chapter comes to an end, this is not the end of the story.

“There is exciting news to come, and we can’t wait to share it with you soon.

“We would like to welcome you all to come join us one last time this weekend, and share a final drink with us before we close our doors.”

CUSTOMERS DEVASTATED

Customers were left devastated by the announcement, with many sharing their heartbreak in the comments section.

One person said: “reat spot for watching football. With the big screen out the back.

“Great atmosphere for the Euro’s in the summer. It will be missed.”

Another added: “A loss to the city – always a decent place to go out.”

Someone else wrote: “Best place to go on the northside, will be missed…loads of great memories made in [The] Living Room.”
