Around 10pc of people are left-handed, says Lough Erne Resort in Co Fermanagh
A five-star resort in Co Fermanagh is offering a specific package for left-handed guests this April, including a gift and rooms “specially rearranged for left-handers”.
Lough Erne Resort’s package includes an overnight stay, dinner at Catalina Restaurant and breakfast from €384 for two people sharing a room.
“While enjoying the mouth-watering dining experiences with locally sourced ingredients at the Catalina Restaurant, left-handers will notice place settings and service have been adapted to their needs,” the resort says.
Guests will receive a gift “with items designed for left-handed people including a notebook, pen and card game,” it adds.
Around 10pc of people are left-handed, the resort says, citing celebrity examples from Angelina Jolie to Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey and Lady Gaga.
“It’s time to celebrate left-handed people and to raise awareness of some of the experiences many of them face in a world imagined largely with right-handed people in mind,” said Helen McCune, Deputy General Manager.
“We are always thinking ahead, and although we never received direct feedback specifically from left-handed guests, we designed this package to celebrate and elevate their experience.
“We hope our guests appreciate our foresight and attention to detail.”
Guests can also upgrade and enjoy a left-handed golf lesson with PGA Professional, Damian Mooney or experience a round of left-handed golf at one of the resort’s two golf courses.
The idea comes as Lough Erne Resort completes a round of refurbishments and has recruited a new general manager, Gareth Byrne.
Meanwhile, work to upgrade and refresh the resort’s 25 lodges is set to be complete by late May.
The Co Fermanagh resort, which hosted the G8 Summit in 2013, is owned by US-based Advantage Capital Holdings and TRU Hotels and Resorts, who also serve as the Resort’s operators.
