While there’s terrible doom and gloom in the restaurant and leisure space, with the likes of the high-end Shanahan’s closing and the fast-food joint Chimac shuttering a branch, it’s not all bad news.

I hear that Dash Burger, which creates a rather delish smashed burger, is in expansion mode.

Dash Burger is backed by James Ryan, the sometime Ireland captain and towering lock. I believe that the crew is out looking for new locations. Ryan is unlikely to do anything wildly risky. His father, Mark, ran Accenture for more than a decade before becoming one of the most sought-after NEDs on the market.

It just goes to show that even in a tricky market with high costs and margins as thin as shaved truffle,
