JESSICA O’MAHONY has revealed that her 91-year-old Belgian grandmother is her ‘style icon’.
Peter’s better half sat down for an in-depth chat with The Times on her whole approach to fashion.
Having amassed over 98k followers on Instagram, she has carved out a healthy niche as an Irish influencer when it comes to all things style.
Yet for all that she’s clearly learned over the years, it’s evident that she still looks to her bonne maman for inspiration.
She said: “She’s 91, she still has her pink lipstick, pink nails and high heels.
“She doesn’t even own a pair of flats, would you believe? She makes such an effort all the time.
“I always admired that from such a young age.”
Her Belgian heritage leads her to draw a noteworthy contrast between Irish people and those who live in continental Europe.
Reflecting on her various trips to the likes of Belgium and France, she notes: “I think we’ve become a little more casual here, a bit more Americanised.
“I lived in France and tracksuits didn’t really exist there. If you’re in a tracksuit you’re only going to the gym and back.”

She also tackles the biggest downside of being married to a top rugby professional – his frequent trips to the likes of France, Scotland and Wales for away matches.
The addition of the four South African teams to the URC in 2017 has only served to worsen this facet of Peter’s career.
It’s highly topical too as Munster are currently in the middle of a South African tour for games against the Bulls and Lions.
They departed on the 10,000 km journey on April 15 and aren’t due back for a few more days as they debrief after Saturday’s gutsy 33-13 win.
But Jess doesn’t let those significant stretches apart get her too down as shown by her creative solution to having a ‘date night’ fall while the 34-year-old is still in the southern hemisphere.
