On Friday, Jameson Irish Whiskey continued its “Touchdown in Dublin” campaign — which has a goal of bringing professional football to the Irish capital — with a rally in New York City led by former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman.
At the rally, Jameson debuted the Jameson Touchdown in Dublin Bus, which will make stops at football tailgates across the country this fall to build support for the mission to bring a pro football game to Dublin.
“Dublin has some of the liveliest and passionate sports fans in the world,” Edelman said. “It’s time to try and bring a professional American football game there! I’m partnering with Jameson to bring back Jameson Touchdown in Dublin, our unofficial call for a regular season pro American football game to be played in Dublin. Because only a Jameson wouldn’t take no for an answer!”
According to Jameson, fans who visit the bus at tailgates will get to explore the bus, which is modeled after a pro football locker room. The bus will have a DJ, photo opportunities, games, swag, Jameson samples and “other surprises.”
The Jameson Touchdown in Dublin Bus will be at Tampa Bay on Oct. 21 for a Monday Night Football matchup and then in Las Vegas on Oct. 27.
If a regular season professional football game in Dublin is announced by April 1, Jameson will give away a Dublin trip to one fan (21 and older) and up to five friends. The giveaway will include flights to Dublin, three nights of hotel accommodations, a tour of the Jameson Distillery and a $3,000 gift card to be used toward buying tickets to the game.

The NFL plays games abroad each year, most commonly in London. At this point, the NFL has played games in London, Mexico, Germany and Brazil. Ireland, however, has yet to get a game.
“Professional American football continues to expand in more cities abroad, but a certain city with the best spirit and best fans still has not been awarded a game,” Pernod Ricard North America VP of Marketing Johan Radojewski said. “We think only a Jameson could try to get the powers-that-be to host a professional American football game in Ireland, so we’re cranking up the volume, inviting more people to join us — including football great Julian Edelman — and taking our unofficial call on the road.”
Last year, Jameson kicked off the campaign with a hand from former NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.
