A Kerry GAA club will enjoy live national and television and radio coverage later today as it takes part in an All-Ireland final.
West Kerry club CLG Lios Póil will play in the final of the junior men’s competition at Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta at 2pm this bank-holiday Monday, June 3, and the game will be broadcast live by TG4 and Raidió na Gaeltachta.
The prestigious Gaelic Football tournaments, contested each June bank-holiday weekend, are open to Irish-speaking clubs and have a long and storied history dating back over 50 years.
Lios Póil will face CLG Naomh Muire of Donegal’s Íochtar na Rosann in the decider. The Kerry club has made it to the final courtesy of comfortable wins over Antrim’s Laochra Loch Lao and Waterford’s An tSean Phobail.
The tournaments have taken place in Cork’s Múscraí Gaeltacht, with Cill na Martra hosting the 2024 event.
