Mick Fitzgerald was born and raised in Killimer in Galway but has lived most of his adult life in Castleisland and managed the Kerry ladies footballers to seven All-Ireland Championship titles in the 1980s
“I never imagined, growing up in Galway, that I’d manage Kerry to two All-Ireland ladies minor titles and seven seniors. I still think that it’s a dream.”
So said Mick Fitzgerald, the Galway man that made the Kingdom his home and brought them some of the greatest times of their lives. Kerry won nine All-Ireland Senior Championship titles in a row between 1982 and 1990 and Mick was manager for seven of them.
