Experience counts for a lot on the big stage, and in the form of Áine Breen and Shannan McQuade, today’s junior teams — Louth and Fermanagh — have captains who are well-acquainted with All-Ireland finals day in Croke Park.

An unused substitute for their junior championship success over Scotland in 2015, Breen started Louth’s showpiece defeat to Limerick in the same competition three years later.
