Lahinch to host South of Ireland Amateur Open golf

LAHINCH will host the 122th edition of the South of Ireland Amateur Open Championship from Wednesday next through to the following Sunday (July 27).

It will comprise an initial field of 150.

The last Limerick winner was Pat Murray in 2012.

Meanwhile, Limerick’s Tim Rice – fresh from his win in the Ballymore Newlands Pro-Am – currently leads the Irish PGA (Professional Golf Association) Order of Merit.

The main event of the season is the Irish Championship, scheduled for Palmerstown House Estate, Kildare (August 6-9).
