Northern Switchgear Antrim SFC Group 1, round two
Lamh Dhearg v Aldergrove (Friday, 7.15pm)
LÁMH Dhearg will have one eye on the knock-out stages when they face St James’s at home on Friday.
The Hannahstown side swept to an easy win in their opening fixture against St Enda’s of Glengormley, 39-year-old Paddy Cunningham kicking 0-7 and finishing top scorer on the day to prove that age is just a number.
The former Antrim captain will hope for another age-defying performance against an Aldergrove side that are coming off the back of a defeat to last year’s beaten finalists Dunloy.
The visitors will be hoping to steal a point or two off Lámh Dhearg and make a late push for one of the two quarter-final slots from the group. Their final game is against St Enda’s in two weeks’ time.
Lámh Dhearg will see this game as a small bump compared to their last game against Dunloy when they will hope that they can cast off the ghost of last year’s shock defeat to Dunloy in the quarter-finals.
