This year’s KPMG Women’s Irish Open will see a record number of Irish players contending for their home title from the 29th August – 1st September.

Four professionals and nine amateurs will be hoping to become the first Irish winner of the event. Leona Maguire who was the first Irish winner on the LPGA Tour and recently became the first Irish winner on the Ladies European Tour will look to secure her second LET title with a win at Carton House, a Fairmont Managed Hotel.

Lauren Walsh, who is the official touring professional at Carton House, a Fairmont Managed Hotel, has had an exceptional season so far which has included four top 10 finishes on the LET. She will be hoping to claim her first win on tour which would make for a sensational first year on tour.

Olivia Mehaffey will also be in search of her first LET win as she tees it up again this year at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open.

ForeFront Group CEO, Cian Branagan said: “Thanks to our title sponsor KPMG, and all of our event Co-sponsors and Partners, we are privileged to be in a position where we can give so many Irish players an opportunity to play in the KPMG Women’s Irish Open. I know this opportunity will give them a taste of what it is like to compete at the highest level in Europe and we are beyond excited to provided them with this platform.”

Recently turned professional, Anna Foster will be playing her first LET event as a pro after capping off a great amateur career with a win at the Flogas Irish Women’s Amateur Open championship back in June. Her club and Irish teammate, Emma Fleming will be teeing it up again at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open. Irish Internationals Kate Lanigan, Olivia
Costello and Aideen Walsh will also be returners to this year’s event having played in Dromoland Castle last year. They will look to use their experience in the event to try claim the main prize and finish as the lowest amateur in the field.

Annabel Wilson has just announced she has turned professional and will make her professional debut at next week’s KPMG Women’s Irish Open. Coming off the back of a great season, she will look to keep her strong momentum going.

Roisin Scanlon, Kate Dillon, Canice Screene and Anna Abom will also make their debut in the event which will hope to see 40,000 spectators attend across the week.
