Leo Varadkar sings iconic Irish hit at Eurovision karaoke with partner Matt Barrett

Former Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and his partner Matt Barrett were getting into the Eurovision spirit in Sweden as they attempted a rendition of Johnny Logan’s ‘Hold Me Now’.

A video posted by the Deputy Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel shows the pair performing the 1987 winning song – although Mr Varadkar looks somewhat uncomfortable.

Mr Varadkar and Mr Bettel became friends during their time as prime ministers in the European Council.

They previously attended the Eurovision together in Italy in 2022 which saw Ukraine crowned the winner.
