Lidl Ireland officially opened its newest store – in Kilcarbery, Clondalkin – this Halloween morning, with the help of Dublin Ladies’ Gaelic Footballer Hannah Tyrrell.
Crowds gathered early to be among the first shoppers in the new Dublin store and to enjoy opening-day entertainment and exclusive in-store offers.
The opening of Lidl’s Kilcarbery store represents a major investment by the retailer, both in the local community and its wider portfolio, which now comprises of a network of 53 Dublin stores and 181 locations nationwide.
Bringing the first major retail offering to the area, Lidl’s new store in Kilcarbery boasts a large sales floor, offering customers a premium shopping experience.
The store also has wide aisles, two Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) machines, long tills, customer restrooms, baby-changing facilities, an in-store bakery and an off-licence.
Externally, the store benefits from regenerative landscaping, a spacious car park, as well as designated EV-charging spaces.
The first ten shoppers through the doors received complimentary vouchers to shop Lidl’s range of products, and they also enjoyed huge savings on middle-aisle favourites.
To mark the opening of the store, the Kilcarbery team welcomed Paul Thompson, programme coordinator from local charity Archways, to accept a donation of €1,000 in Lidl vouchers.
Established in 2007, Archways supports young people, families and communities experiencing behavioural, social and emotional issues throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Speaking at the opening, Lidl Kilcarbery store manager Andrei Romanschi said, “It was a proud morning as we opened the doors of our brand-new, state-of-the-art store here in Kilcarbery, with a warm welcome from the local community.
“Delivering the first major retail offering to the thriving community of Kilcarbery, this store was highly anticipated, and we’re delighted that local shoppers can now benefit from quality products at market-leading prices, enjoying an unrivalled shopping experience with Ireland’s best-value supermarket.
“As proud supporters of Ladies’ Gaelic Football since 2016, we’d like to thank Dublin’s Hannah Tyrrell for joining us in the celebrations this morning and officially cutting the ribbon on our new store.”
Dublin LGFA footballer Tyrrell said at the ceremony, “The atmosphere here at the opening of Lidl Kilcarbery was brilliant.
“It’s great to see so many local shoppers enjoying the new store, snapping up the middle-aisle offers, and grabbing some last-minute treats for Halloween night.
“Lidl has always been a great supporter of its communities through its partnership with [the] LGFA, and as a Clondalkin local, it was an honour to officially cut the ribbon on the new store in Kilcarbery.”
