Students at the Institute of Education on Leeson Street in Dublin don’t just choose subjects. They pick their teachers, decide when they want to go to school, and what time they’d like to finish.

Principal Yvonne O’Toole believes the Institute is “unique” in allowing students create their own timetable – and then take two weeks to decide if they like it. Nothing is settled until the middle of September.
