I know it’s Christmas. I know the city centre is bustling with lights and all the things that should make Dublin feel like the heart of Christmas fun. But I’ve been avoiding it.

That’s not a sentence I should be writing. I should be excited to wander down Grafton Street wondering how the busker in the corner of Stephen’s Green can still sing Fairytale of New York like he means it after his eighth rendition of the day.
