The Luas Green Line services have resumed following a day of travel chaos for hundreds of people in Dublin.

The service was suspended for most of the day on Saturday, July 20, due to an overhead power line fault.

A spokesperson for the Dublin tram system made the announcement via social media early on Saturday morning, making commuters aware that any tickets for the line would be valid on Dublin Bus.

Throughout the day, ‘multiple teams’ were working to resolve the issue.

In an update shared on social media on Saturday evening, a Luas spokesperson said: ‘Passengers, please be advised Green Line services have fully reopened after an earlier technical issue with the overhead power lines.

‘Please expect delays as we work to regulate the line. Thank you for your patience.’

And an hour later they announced that the Green Line services are back operating normally.
