A man in his early 20s has been seriously injured after an assault on Wexford Street overnight.
Gardaí say it happened in the early hours of this morning, and the man has been taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment.
The scene of the incident has been examined, and no arrests have yet been made.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are investigating an assault which occurred on Wexford St, Dublin 2 during the early hours of Saturday morning, 21st December 2024.”
“A man (early 20s) is currently receiving treatment for serious injuries at Beaumont Hospital. The scene of the incident has been examined by local Scenes of Crime.”
They added: “No arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with information or who may have witnessed this incident can contact Pearse Street Garda Station on 01 666 9000. Investigations are ongoing.”
