A man in his 30s was seriously injured and taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition

A man was rushed to hospital early this morning following a “serious assault” in Dublin city centre.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place on Talbot Street, Dublin 1, shortly after 1am on Sunday morning, October 6.

A man in his 30s was seriously injured and taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

A technical examination of the scene has since been conducted and investigations are ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.

A spokesperson said: “Any road users and pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) from the Talbot Street area between 12:30am and 1:30am to make this footage available to gardaí.”
