Man (40s) seriously injured in Dublin hit-and-run as gardaí appeal for witnesses

A man in his 40s is in hospital with serious injuries after a hit-and-run incident in Dublin on Sunday evening.

The incident occurred on Lower Rathmines Road, Rathmines, at approximately 8:45pm tonight.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the crash involving a car and a pedestrian.

“The car involved failed to remain at the scene. The pedestrian, an adult male (40s), was taken by Ambulance to St. James’s Hospital. His injuries are understood to be serious,” Gardaí said.

The scene is currently preserved and traffic diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Those with camera footage, including motorists with dash-cam, from the area at the time are asked to provide it to investigating Gardaí.
