Gardaí are not looking for any other suspects in relation to the murder of a man in his seventies in rural north Co Dublin last night.

The victim in the case suffered apparent stab injuries and was discovered in a house.

A man in his late twenties who was arrested at the scene is well-known to the victim.

It is understood the suspect has “certain health difficulties”, according to sources.

Gardaí in Balbriggan said they are investigating all the circumstances around the death of the man following the incident in Tobersool, Balbriggan, Co. Dublin.

“Shortly after 11.20pm, Gardaí and emergency services attended a residence in Tobersool, near Balbriggan, Co. Dublin, where a man in his 70’s was found unresponsive. He was declared dead at the scene.
