A man in his 60s has died after he was struck by a car in Co Meath last night.
The incident occurred at around 10.40pm at Flowerhill in Navan.
The man’s body was removed to Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan, where a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.
The driver of the car, a man in his 60s, was not injured.
The road at Flowerhill is closed for a technical examination and local diversions are in place.
The man was the second pedestrian to be killed in a road incident yesterday, after a woman in her 70s died after being struck by a car in Co Carlow.
Since Monday, six people have been killed on Irish roads, including four pedestrians.
