A man in his 60s is in a serious condition in hospital after he fell off his electric bicycle on the outskirts of Tralee, Co Kerry.

The incident happened at around 12.45am at Bracker O’Regan Road. No other vehicle was involved.

The man was unconscious when emergency services arrived at the scene.

He was taken to University Hospital Kerry for treatment. It is understood he is in a serious condition.

The road where the incident happened has been examined by gardaí and has since re-opened to traffic.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.

Anyone who was travelling in the area at the time of the incident, especially those with camera footage, is asked to contact gardaí.
