“Anyone with Gift Vouchers should call in before then. I have a list of people that I would like to acknowledge and thank – so here goes (apologies in advance to anyone I may have forgotten).
“Owen McConnon and Brian for coming up with the idea in 1988, also Josephine and Mary for their contributions. The various people who have worked with me over the last 36 years, especially Anna-Marie Galligan – a kind, witty friend and colleague.
Noel continued expressing thanks to the local community saying: “The many people who stood in queues in all weathers to purchase tickets for shows from Garth Brooks to U2 to Cartown.
“Many a chaotic and funny morning – thanks for your patience. Everyone who has been a customer from all parts of County Cavan and beyond.
“The great people of Cavan Town for their generosity of spirit.
All my fellow traders and neighbours, I wish you continued success and good health.”
Noel also went on to thank the Cavan Arts office “especially” Catriona O’Reilly and local media such as Shannonside Northern Sound radio station and The Anglo Celt.
Thanks was also issued to the many artists who had performed in store.
The impressive list includes The Saw Doctors, The Tumbling Paddies, Derek Ryan, Mike Denver, Nathan Carter, Lisa McHugh and Lisa O’Neill.
Noel also thanked local artists and a host of other figures who had roles within the store and supported it over the many years in business.
The music store owner continued: “To the many friends who called in for a chat over the years, many topics discussed and debated!
“Trading in Multisound over the last 36 years has never really been like a ‘job’ more of an entertaining journey….
“Thank you for this! Noel.”
‘A wee treasure of a shop’

Another said: “One of my favourite places to go on my lunch hour when I started working for my teenage years. Thanks for all the tickets & chats over the years Noel & Ann Marie, without you we wouldn’t have the memories.”
Another person wrote: “You will be missed, such a big part of my childhood memories and all my now hits at Christmas.”
While another added: “God Multisound is one of the biggest parts of my Cavan life.
“You gave us a place to gather and listen to music from 11 years old, I paid in dusting and odd jobs for most of my first albums. Somehow despite this you employed me.
“I literally thought I was in Empire Records! We just had the best craic, it will always be my favourite job.”
