East-Meath duo Duleek-Bellewstown and St Patrick’s should both make a bold big to regain their senior status in the race for this year’s intermediate crown.
They clashed at the semi-final stage last year when Duleek-Bellewstown produced probably their best display of the year when registering an easier than expected, 1-17 to 1-9 success after a devastating burst in the final quarter during which they posted 1-6 without reply. However, they were unable to repeat that performance for the entire 80 minutes of a thrilling decider against Rathkenny after enjoying a substantial lead at half-time. They eventually lost out by the minimum, 1-18 to 2-14, following extra-time.
