The Raheny Shamrock men’s team took intermediate bronze as the Dublin Intermediate cross country returned to St. Anne’s Park for the first time since the late 1980’s.
Barry Meehan was first Raheny man home in seventh place followed by Robert Lea 14th, Giovanni Salvatore 16th and Christopher Quaid 24th for 61 points. Some 16 points clear of Civil Service.
Donore Harriers took gold with 13 points followed by Clonliffe Harriers with 42 points.
Aodhaghan O’Deasmhunaigh was the club’s fifth scorer in 34th place.
The women’s team took fifth place, led home by Mairead Roche in ninth place, Sarah Deneher 22nd, Molly Rickard 26th and Triona NicDhonaill 27th.
The Raheny team scored 84 points with Clonliffe taking gold with 20 points, silver for Crusaders with 21 point and bronze went to Sportsworld with 68 points.
Also giving strong performances in green and white, where Seona O’keeffe 28th, Sorcha Delargy 31st, Deirbhile O’Keeffe 32nd and Clodagh Foley 38th.
A medal is a good way to make the return of the Dublin intermediate championship to St. Anne’s Park after such a long gap.
