Dubliner Aby Coulibaly, who supported Coldplay at Croke Park earlier this year, will headline a matinee concert kicking off at 4pm at Dublin Castle before the main countdown event in the evening.

She will be joined by viral sensations Kabin Crew and Lisdoonvarna Crew as well as Dublin singer-songwriter Saibh Skelly.

Coulibaly, Kabin Crew and Lisdoonvarna Crew and Skelly will take to the stage once again from 8pm in support of headline act Cian Ducrot to ring in the new year.

Tickets for the matinee show, priced from €7.90 for children to €12.90 for adults, are still available via Ticketmaster. A limited number of tickets to the countdown concert, priced at €49.90 are also available.

Anyone looking to attend both concerts will have to buy separate tickets for each – a ticket for the matinee doesn’t grant admission to the main countdown concert and vice versa.

Free, family-friendly events will also be held as part of NYF Dublin, including a firework display at Howth Harbour (viewing from Howth Pier Park and the Harbour Road) and Dún Laoghaire Harbour (viewing from Sandycove to Dún Laoghaire Town) from 8pm. The Dublin Castle event will include a pyrotechnic display.

Both Dublin Bus and Luas services will be on Saturday operating hours on New Year’s Eve. Dublin Bus will run a full Nitelink service alongside 24-hour services, while there will be night Luas services on both the red and green lines.

Intercity rail services will operate on a weekday timetable for New Year’s Eve and a number of additional late night services have been added after the festivities, including:

  • 01:35 and 02:35 from Dublin Connolly serving all stations to Howth
  • 01:30 and 02:30 from Dublin Pearse serving all stations to Greystones
  • 01:50 and 02:55 from Dublin Connolly, serving all stations from Howth Junction to Dundalk
  • 01:25 and 03:00 from Dublin Connolly serving all stations to Maynooth
  • 00:50 and 02:50 from Dublin Connolly serving Drumcondra, and all stations from ParkWest to Kildare

The celebrations will continue long after the clock strikes midnight on December 31 with concerts being held on New Year’s Day at Dublin Castle and Meeting House Square.

Hothouse Flowers, Emma Langford, The Bonny Men and Attention Bébé will be performing at a free, family friendly concert at Dublin Castle from 1pm to 5pm on January 1.

Trad and folk performances will be provided by John Francis Flynn, Saileog Ní Cheannabháin, Kevin Fowley and Paahto and The Bull at Meeting House Square from 2pm to 6pm. This event will also be family friendly and free of charge.
