Newly-elected Lord Mayor of Dublin Emma Blain has said she wants the city to regain its positive image — and the time has come “to stop talking Dublin down”.
Speaking to the Sunday Independent hours after moving in to the Mansion House with her two young children Hunter (10) and Tilly (9), Blain said we need to embrace the positive aspects of our capital city.
“There has been negativity. I think us Irish don’t like to big ourselves up but this city gives us a lot of reasons why we should big ourselves up. I think we need to stop talking Dublin down.”
