Former X-Factor star Olly Murs, who was first uncovered on the hit TV show 15 years ago, is back on tour with shows in Dublin and Belfast next year.

The 40-year-old rose to stardom after taking part on the sixth series of the television talent show The X Factor in 2009, finishing as runner-up.

Murs sang sings such as Stevie Wonder’s Superstition, George Michael’s Fastlove and The Jacksons’s Can You Feel It during the X-Factor season.

He released his debut album Olly Murs in November 2010, releasing six further studio albums up until 2022, all of which will be played in what he described as a ‘15 Years of Hits’ tour.

“Next year I’m Celebrating 15 unbelievable years by going on tour!! Doing what I love best will be truly special but to top it off I’m taking a band with me who I was obsessed with in my college years, BLUE,” the Please Don’t Let Me Go singer said on Instagram.

The former telemarketer, recruitment consultant and semi-professional footballer, will play16 nights across the UK and Ireland next April and May.

He will perform in Dublin at the 3Arena on April 29 and in Belfast’s SSE Arena the following day, on April 30.

“No doubt the pranks and banter will be free-flowing but most importantly it’s going to be a great night for the fans to enjoy, I can’t wait,” he added.

Murs is just off the back of a UK nationwide tour earlier this year, where he performed as a special guest to Take That.

Supporting act Blue said: “We were really delighted when Olly asked us to join him on his Arena tour next year and can’t wait to get on the road with him in the Spring.

“We are going to have a whole lot of fun and look forward to making him an honorary Blue boy! We’ll be singing the biggest hits and maybe the odd joke here and there – watch out Olly!”

Murs, writing on Instagram, added: “See you there you legends.”

Tickets go on general sale from next Friday, September 13 at 10am.
