A crash on Dublin’s M50 in the southbound direction is causing “major delays” for commuters this morning with emergency services currently on the scene.

The incident took place on the M50 southbound at roughly 6.50am between Junction 12 – Firhouse and Junction 13 – Dundrum with the left lane, middle and hard shoulder partially blocked.

Traffic is at a complete standstill from before Junction 9 – Red Cow to after Junction 12 – Firhouse and building rapidly. Motorists are being advised to avoid the area., Irish Rail has also announced that a number of services are delayed as follows:

  • The 7.12 Connolly to Drogheda service has departed 7 minutes behind schedule
  • The 07:07 Maynooth to GCD service has departed Maynooth and is operating approximately 11 minutes behind schedule due to a technical issue onboard
  • The 06:50 Connolly to Portadown service has departed Connolly station approximately 16 minutes behind schedule
