Pharmaceutical firm Pfizer is to cut more jobs at its Irish manufacturing facilities, as part of a global cost-cutting programme.
It is understood that up to 210 jobs will go across its facilities in Grange Castle in Dublin, Ringaskiddy in Cork, and Newbridge in Kildare.
The lay-offs will begin towards the end of this year, continuing into 2025, and will be a mixture of voluntary and targeted redundancies.
They are part of a $1.5 billion cost-cutting programme announced by Pfizer in May.
This followed on from a larger, $3.5 billion cuts programme which saw 100 jobs go at its Newbridge facility last year.
Pfizer employs around 5,000 people in Ireland across five locations.
In a statement it said reducing jobs was a “very last resort” and it was “actively engaging with colleagues and their representatives”.
It said all decisions would be made with “transparency, respect, and in compliance with all applicable laws.”
No details of the redundancy package have been announced. It is understood previous rounds of lay-offs at Pfizer have offered six weeks’ pay for each year of service, plus two weeks’ pay.
