DUBLIN Airport has announced it’s latest addition to its major food offerings.
Beloved Irish fast-food restaurant Supermacs has officially opened its doors in Terminal Two.
The airport announced that the latest food outlet at the airport is located just beside the arrivals area.
Located next to the recently opened American pizza chain Papa John’s, it has taken the spot where Wright’s of Howth once stood.
The restaurant’s opening comes after DAA’s announcement earlier this year that 23 new bars, cafes and restaurants were set to open across both terminals.
Half of the new units are set to be opened by June ahead of the busy summer period as new food outlets have been appearing since January.
Along with Supermacs, Papa John’s, Insomnia Coffee and Pret A Manger all announced they were coming to Dublin Airport this year.
Others set to join include Nomad, Street Kitchen, and Bluebird Coffee Roasters.
Places in Dublin Airport like Butler’s Chocolate Cafe, Burger King and Jump Juice are all getting a revamp also.
Terminal one is also seeing major changes as new Korean and Thai street food options, a new Italian restaurant, and a new Arthur Guinness Bar are all on the way.
The existing SoMa outlet is also set to be replaced by a new restaurant Lilian’s Restaurant and Bar at the 300 gates.
When announcing the expansion, Vincent Harrison, Chief Commercial and Development Officer at daa, said: “Passengers are in for a treat in 2024 with a whole host of exciting new additions and improvements to the already fantastic line-up of bars and eating places in Dublin Airport.
“These enhancements build on the many new outlets we have opened and improved in the terminals over recent years, which are going down very well with passengers.
“We’ve listened closely to passengers and have heard loud and clear that they want more choice, including more gluten-free options, and by working with our partners, we are going to offer them more variety than ever before.
“Passengers will soon be able to enjoy everything from Italian, Asian and Mexican outlets through to loved local favourites and up-and-coming Irish brands.”
Open for business
Meanwhile, Irish holidaymakers have told how they “can’t wait to try” a popular food spot in Dublin Airport that is officially “open for business”.
The new Phoenix Lane outlet offers healthy food options, specialist coffee, hot breakfasts and drinks on tap.
The new food outlet is located at the airport’s South Gates and serves delicious hot breakfast, salads, fresh coffee and draught pints.
Dublin Airport wrote: “Great news for passengers! The new “Phoenix Lane” outlet at our South Gates is now open for business.
‘Proving popular’
“And it’s already proving really popular with everything on offer from hot breakfasts and salads, to fresh coffee and draught pints.”
The post shared four pictures of the new food outlet with the classic interiors that make you feel right at home in the capital.
