A MAJOR new store is set to open in the heart of the capital in just days – and it comes with a special new area cyclists will love.
Decathlon will open its third store in Ireland at Clerys Quarter on O’Connell Street in Dublin on Friday at 12pm.
The opening will also see over 50 new jobs created locally.
The store will span two levels with a floor area of over 2,200 square metres.
Upon entering the store customers can explore areas covering running, swimming, nutrition, yoga and Pilates.
The lower level contains even more sports including hiking and camping, cycling and urban mobility, fitness and boxing as well as team sports such as GAA, soccer, golf and tennis.
The store boasts both online and in store solutions to discover and make purchases, all while being assisted by Decathlon’s experienced sports advisors.
It will also feature a Decathlon workshop – ideal for the 26,000+ bicycles in Dublin city centre.
CEO at Decathlon Ireland, Elena Pecos said: “We are thrilled that we are opening our much-anticipated third store in Ireland this week, particularly in the iconic Clerys Building on O’Connell Street.
“Clerys holds a special place in the hearts of many Irish people, and we are delighted and honoured to become a part of this legacy.
“Our commitment goes beyond offering sports products; it extends to creating a community hub where the people of Dublin can continue to build their active lifestyles and create new memories for generations to come.
“We cannot wait to welcome everyone into this fantastic new store!”
Meanwhile, Irish Revolut customers are set for a major change as the company has announced a new debit card loyalty programme.
Customers will be able to turn their everyday spending into extraordinary rewards, including airline miles and exclusive discounts on travel, accommodation, experiences and more.
RevPoints offers broad and accessible redemption options that cater to a variety of lifestyles and preferences — without needing a credit card.
Customers can transfer their RevPoints to more than 30 airline loyalty programmes, including Flying Blue, making travel more attainable than ever in spite of surging flight prices.
RevPoints can also be redeemed for significant discounts on premium holiday accommodation and unforgettable experiences through the Lifestyle tab within the Revolut app.
For everyday convenience and rewards, points can also be used for discounts at top Irish brands such as O’Neills and DID Electrical when shopping online with Revolut Pay, ensuring that Revolut customers can make use of every point earned.
Depending on their plan, users can earn up to one point per euro spent.
They can even accelerate their earnings by converting spare change into points, completing fun in-app challenges or on in-app bookings for stays and experiences.
General Manager of Lifestyle Products at Revolut, Christopher Guttridge said: “At Revolut we’re all about helping people get more for their money.
“RevPoints is set to transform everyday spending into things and experiences people love, by converting routine purchases into rewards.
