A Dublin vintage store has announced its immediate and permanent closure.
Nine Crows Thrift Shop located on Mary Street has announced Saturday August 31 will be its last day of trading.
The thrift store shared the news with its fifteen thousand followers on Instagram on Friday.
“We’ve had an amazing few years and are so grateful for all of your support through that time. We are really proud of having been able to bring you clothes you love at an affordable price, all the way through Covid, the cost of living crisis, the riots and everything else,” said a statement.
The staff cited the “out of control costs” and the “changes in the ways people shop and visit the city centre” as the reason for them not renewing their lease on Mary Street.
“Operating a small independent business in Ireland right now can feel like swimming against a current. We have so much love and respect for all of our friends running amazing businesses against the odds, as we do with those who have had to close or pull back recently.
“We would love to encourage all of our dear customers to support as many local independents as they can. The Amazons, Sheins and IKEAs of the world won’t miss your business, but the places that give Dublin its life and character definitely will.”
The store team thanked all their customers and members of staff who have worked in the store since it first opened in November 2019.
