Liam Nolan is relishing his role of seniority this week as he prepares for his last Irish dance at the Home Internationals in Murcar Links, Scotland this week.
The 24-year-old will turn professional later this month and he hopes to bow out of amateur golf in style with a win on his last Irish cap.
Nolan will make his fourth Home Internationals appearance and alongside Colm Campbell and Hugh Foley he will be looking to play a leading role for what is an inexperienced side on paper with Sean Keeling, Paul Coughlan, Joshua Hill, Thomas Higgins, Ryan Griffin and Luke O’Neill all making their debuts.
“I always love representing Ireland. Putting on an Irish jersey is something you can never take for granted so I’m absolutely delighted to be playing,” said Nolan who was part of the 2021 winning side who made a sensational final day comeback against England.
“We have a brilliant team. It’s weird to be one of the more experienced guys on it this year. I have been so used to looking up to the more experienced players in years gone by. Now I am in a bit of a different role. This is my fourth one at men’s level.
“It’s a really cool experience and hopefully we can take our team over to Scotland and get the win.
“There has been a lot of good and then some close calls so really looking forward to getting a second Homes win.”
