Q1 Scientific, which provide stability storage services for the pharmaceutical, medical device and life science industries, is celebrating 10 years of operations at its Waterford base.
The firm is also celebrating the first anniversary of its site in Belgium, and has opened new facility in North Carolina, US.
Established by scientist Louise Grubb in 2013, Q1 Scientific was acquired by American firm Cambrex in 2022.
The group’s Waterford facility has been extended to 30,000 sq ft, while its Belgium base comprises 20,000 sq ft. Its new US location will be located in Durham, North Carolina and will initially have seven ICH stability chambers, with temperatures ranging from -70°C/-80°C to 40°C.
The phase two of its plans for the sites will see this increase to 20 ICH chambers and an extension to 20,000 cubic feet of storage space when complete.

Q1 Scientific’s expansion into Durham complements its existing facilities in Waterford, Ireland, and Belgium, giving it a global footprint with three locations covering both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.”
