Girls Soccer

Gwynedd Mercy 5, Upper Dublin 4 >> Gwynedd Mercy got goals from five different players – Sophia Caulfield, Kiersten Hasson, Emme Morris, Chloe Folk and Sophia Justice – to edge Upper Dublin in a high-scoring nonleague contest Thursday.

Folk and Lily Walker each had an assist while GMA goalie Lauren Smith posted eight saves.

Plymouth Whitemarsh 4, Cheltenham 0 >> Maddie McGuckien had two goals, scoring off a Mia  Baron assist and also converting a penalty kick, as Plymouth Whitemarsh improved to 2-0-0 Thursday.

Mia Baron also scored off Keria Whelen’s assist while a goal by Liv Patete was assisted by Liv Reilly. PW Olivia Bragg earned the shutout.

Field Hockey

Wissahickon 7, Upper Dublin 2 >> Cami Lutte scored four goals while Riley Ball added two goals and an assist as Wissahickon won its SOL Liberty Division opener Thursday.

Lutte and Ball both had two goals in the first half as the Trojans (2-1-0, 1-0-0 division) led 5-0 at halftime. Sam Farno finished with a goal and an assist.

Noelle Koop, Kayla Mullin, Audrey Walsh, Maika Ishi and Carley Lehman each had an assist for Wissahickon.

Central Bucks West 2, North Penn 1 >> Central Bucks West’s Aida Ierurbino broke a 1-1 tie the third quarter off an assist from Heidi Schoenleber) and Central Bucks West held on edge North Penn for an SOL Colonial victory Thursday.

A Paige Shearer goal assisted by Laura Albert gave North Penn (1-1-0, 0-1-0 division) a 1-0 lead at 4:40 in the first quarter but Claire Demmer pulled West (1-1-0, 1-0-0) even by scoring at 3:23 thanks to a Schoenleber assist.

Bucks goalkeeper Kendra Pitts had eight saves. NP goalie Kiley Moister made seven saves.

Conestoga 8, Archbishop Carroll 0 >> Shae Wozniak scored a hat trick while Peyton Esposito scored twice as Conestoga rolled past Archbishop Carroll Thursday.

Hannah Simon, Emily Todd and Lexi Patterson each had a goal for the Pioneers. Carroll goalie Fiona Conboy finished with 20 saves.

Girls Volleyball

Pennridge 3, Souderton 1 >> Souderton took the second set to pull even in Thursday’s SOL Continental match but Pennridge responded by winning the next two to best the Indians in four 29-27, 17-25, 25-20, 28-26.

For Souderton, Lauren Vince had 15 kills, 15 digs and an ace, Zoe Folk finished with 28 digs and two aces and Lily Self had nine kills, 11 digs and seven aces. Stella Powers posted 31 assists, 11 digs, three kills and one block while Ava Woodbury had 12 digs, one kill, one block and one assist. Emma Conklin added seven kills with Ella Rothenberger having two blocks and a kill.

Garnet Valley 3 Methacton 1 >> Methacton’s Makayla Batten had 10 kills while Mianna Ly made 21 digs as Garnet Valley took Thursday’s nonleague match 15-25, 25-15, 25-15, 26-24.

Ellie Baldwin and Caroline Welsh both had eight kills for the Warriors (1-1). Arden Hartranft had 19 digs with Ava Karlinsey collected 19 digs.
