An authentic Vietnamese experience it was not, writes critic Lucinda O’Sullivan after a visit to the new Madame Pho in Dublin 2
One couldn’t argue with the warmth of the welcome at Madame Pho, a new Vietnamese spot on Dublin’s Exchequer Street, as we were ushered through a full restaurant towards the basement room — though then demurred going down to the bowels of the earth to what had been the cocktail/karaoke bar of the former Ukiyo Japanese restaurant.
“If you can wait five minutes,” a managerial looking man obliged, “we’ll have a table up here.”
