Snow may be on the way to Dublin as new weather warning issued

Motorists are being urged to take care on the roads

The nationwide Status Yellow low temperature and ice warning has been extended until midnight on Thursday.

Met Éireann have also issued a new weather warning for the entire country. A Status Yellow Snow-Ice warning comes into place at midday, which will run until midday tomorrow. They say to expect wintry showers that could bring an accumulation of snow.

Motorists and pedestrians are being warned of hazardous travelling conditions, poor visibility, and travel disruption.

Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports are all operating as normal today, however passengers are being urged to check with their airline before travelling.

Meanwhile people are being asked to only contact the National Ambulance Service in the event of a genuine emergency.
