The Aer Lingus College Football Classic promises to be “much more than a game” each year, and among the tens of thousands of fans that arrived in Dublin to watch Georgia Tech take on Florida State yesterday, there were US business leaders keen to learn more about Ireland’s ever-growing business ties with the US and – most relevant for the game – Ireland’s sports tech industry.

More than 24,000 people travelled from the US to attend the game at the Aviva Stadium while about 3.5 million watched it on US sports channel ESPN.
