A popular south Dublin pub that announced its closure after 25 years of business, has now reopened under new ownership.
Leonard’s Corner, located at the junction of South Circular Road and Clanbrassil Street, announced its closure at the end of October, thanking its staff and customers for their support over the years.
Owners Gerry and Phil shared a farewell message on social media: “After almost 25 years, the time has come for me to pass the reins of my pride and joy to other hands,” they said.
“We have had the best journey and enjoyed every minute with you all.
“To all our loyal customers, you made Leonard’s Corner a very special place, and we want to thank each and every one of you. Without you, it wouldn’t have been the same.
“A massive thank you to our wonderful staff. It has been a huge pleasure to work with you, and we wish you all the very best for the future.
“We have developed a great relationship, and we are very grateful for all you have done.
“It hasn’t been an easy decision to move on, but we feel it is the right time. It is now our turn to have our adventures.
“We will always think fondly of our time at Leonard’s Corner with all our wonderful staff and customers.
“We wish everyone well and, again, a big thank you to you all. It is not goodbye but see you later.”
However, the pub shared a post on social media over the weekend with its new opening times.
The venue has reportedly been acquired by the owners of two other Dublin 8 venues, The Circular on South Circular Road, and Lucky’s on Meath Street.
