Private equity group ‘close to finalising deal’ with Irish waste technology firm

Jimmy Martin of AMCS

The CEO co-founder of Limerick-based waste technology firm AMCS will likely see the business valued at far in excess of €1.3bn as Swedish private equity group EQT finalises a deal to take a majority stake in the Irish company.

AMCS was founded by its chief executive, Jimmy Martin, and Austin Ryan in 2003. Its current backers include the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF) and a who’s who of private equity firms, such as Insight Venture Partners, Highland Capital Partners and Clearlake Capital.
